our story
Impart’s story tells of community strength.

We started off as a ground-up initiative, bringing good help to those who need it the most.
Today, we are a charity in the heart of the community, growing capacity for collaboration in the sector.
Most importantly, empowered youths at Impart now take ownership of community change.

needs-based approach
Impart took on our very first youth in 2017 as a ground-up initiative.

We realised that few community-based programs were accessible to youths-facing-adversity – many received personalised support only after institutionalisation, and the professional helpers (i.e. youth/case workers) were not receiving robust and coordinated support from community-based programs. Finally, many volunteers struggled to facilitate deep impact through their volunteerism hours.

Impart started with the desire to bridge these needs, and grew by understanding what worked for our youths, professional partners, and volunteers alike.

youth-centric design
The more we spent time getting to know our youths and their youth workers, the more we recognised the opportunity to serve youths in a diversity of ways. Our time spent listening to these voices alerted us to three core needs:
1
EDUCATION
2
MENTAL HEALTH CARE
3
COMMUNITY
Where aspirations and connectedness could be developed through play and service.

After we established the program effectiveness, we found the bandwidth to invest in community health.

To borrow an analogy, isolated intervention programs can function as safety nets, but networks of care are trampolines. And we want more trampolines. When we invest in strong communities where youths can find a home, we also empower communities to help themselves.

Now, Impart is invested in the three-fold thrust of:
